Palawan: Taytay


This is Taytay in Palawan. A place with a lot of historical sites. In this place you will you be able to find old church, old buildings and old port.


         This is one of the old buildings which is now used as a commercial buiding. This was built during the Spanish time.


Another old building is this church. It is so amazing to see buildings that was built hundred years ago which were still used up to this time.

While strolling around I can't help myself not to capture a picture of the community.

           A landmark in the entrance of the port stating that Port St. Isabel was first built using wood in 1667 as a garrison for the Spanish troop of peace. It was built through the effort of Gov. Fernando Manuel de Bustillo. It was rebuilt using stone with four defense sides in honor of St.Toribio, San Miguel, San Juan at St. Isabel in  the first quarter of the 18th century. The reconstruction was administered by Don fernando Velez de Arce and was finished at the middle of the century. This port serves as a strong fortress in overseeing  mercantile marine vehicles and in raiding sea pirates.


    These were some of the views inside and outside the port. At the entrance there a lot of old cannons that were displayed. At the top of the entrance door, the sculpture of the images of the saints were present.    The port is open for visitors from 8AM to 5PM.

            It was a long trip that took two days and two nights of travel. We had been able to have a land trip from Manila to Davao because my companions bought new cars and preferred to transport the cars by having a land trip than shipped it. Bankruptcy

         It is sad to see beautiful establishments closed because of bankruptcy. There is a famous hotel here in Davao that all of a sudden shuts down. Every time I passed by on this tall building I couldn't stop myself from wondering how this thing happen. Maybe the management did not handle it well that a Bankruptcy Lawyer was already been called. The hotel was one of the highest hotels and operating well. My boss had been a former employee there and he relayed to us that although the hotel is earning well it did not be able to cope up with it expenses and was affected by the increasing dollar exchange rate. The hotel had not been able to pay its employees on time and had been  delayed in paying by six months.           In any business, filing for bankruptcy is the last resort in saving what is left. Palwan: Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center

     This is Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center or also called Palawan Crocodile and Nature Park. It is located in Palawan City that if you would be staying within the city, it is very much accessible. You would only have to ride  a tricycle, which is the number one means of transportation in Palawan City,  and you would be able to reach this place.      Yup,that's me, facing my fear and holding a baby crocodile. We have this session while waiting for our time to enter the crocodile facility and the park. Well this picture taking session is not free, this is worth twenty pesos and if you want to purchase a copy of the picture it is worth around 150-200 pesos.       This is what welcomes you inside the facility where a short orientation is to be given by the staff. This crocodile is used to be the largest crocodile captured in the Philippines, not anymore because of the captivity of Lolong. These are fresh water crocodiles around four to six year
